Exploring Local History

Status:Active, open to new members
Leader:
When: Monthly on Tuesday afternoons
1st Tuesday of the month
Venue: St John's Church Hall

This Group is for members who would like to research specific local history topics and then give a short talk to the Group covering their findings.  Members take it in turns to present with normally two members giving a talk at each meeting. The Group is restricted to a maximum of sixteen to ensure that all can contribute.  Don't worry if you are not used to giving a talk, we are very friendly, can help direct you to where to carry out your research and are not looking for polished presentations but for talks on topics where we can learn something about the Crowborough area and discuss findings or to suggest where lacking information might be available.

Recent topics have included Crowborough Pubs, Herne School, Religious Influences in Crowborough, Crowborough Hospital, The Horder Centre, Mrs de Lannoy, Conan Doyles Fairies, Crowborough Fire Station and Crowborough Witches.

We currently have three vacancies.
