No formal science background is needed to join this group but all our members have an interest in learning more about the many varied aspects of science and technology.
Members often share topics of special interest to them. We have occasional outside speakers and visits as well as social events and informal discussions. Topics we have covered in the last year include AI, the space shuttle, drilling for oil, developments in physics, ocean currents and chirality. We have had outside speakers presenting on Seed Banks and Windmills. Visits have included Downe House (Darwin’s home), Beddington Energy Recovery Facility and the Science Museum for its ‘Versailles Science and Splendour’ exhibition.
There is room for a few new members if you wish to join us. The only requirement is that you have an interest and enthusiasm for science.
