The membership year runs until 31st October.
We will send out information about how you can renew your membership at the beginning of October.
Now our new database system is up and running we will be sending renewal notification by email. This will drastically reduce time and cost (printing and postage). Those members that do not use email will still be sent information about how to renew by post.
Between Wednesday 1st and Friday 3rd October please look out for emails sent from this address: noreply@u3abeacon.org.uk. If you can't find the email in your inbox please check your Spam or Junk folder. If you haven't received instructions from us about how to renew your membership by Friday 10th October, then please get in touch, so we can check we have your correct contact details recorded on our system.
The committee have been able to keep the membership fee for the next year at £15 (per full member). This is in part thanks to the people who tell us we can claim Gift Aid. If you are a UK taxpayer and pay sufficient income tax and/or capital gains we can obtain an extra 25% (£3.75 per full member) from the Government at no extra cost to yourself. Once you have consented to grant Gift Aid, we will continue to collect from HMRC until you inform us that you are no longer eligible / decline to grant Gift Aid.

New members who joined Crowborough u3a after 1st August 2025 will not be required to renew until next year (2026).
We encourage people to pay by Bank Transfer. This is the most efficient method for us, and by paying this way we don't incur any transaction fees.
We bank with Lloyds Bank and our branch is Tunbridge Wells (309877). Our bank account details are shown below.
It is essential you use your Membership Number (or Numbers, if paying for more than one person) as a reference. Your Membership Number will be given on the renewal notification you receive. Some members (such as husband and wife) share an email address. In these cases, only one joint email is sent, and this will contain both your Membership Numbers.

We have a separate bank account for u3a outings. If you have paid for a u3a trip, it is worth double-checking the account number to ensure the money is going into our main account (not the outings one).
We will acknowledge receipt as soon as possible and within 10 days of receiving your payment.
Alternative payment methods
Although we encourage payment by Bank Transfer whenever possible, you can pay by Cheque, Card or Cash. Cheques should be made payable to "Crowborough U3A". Please write your Membership Number(s) on the reverse of the cheque and post it in our post box in the foyer of the Community Centre. You can pay by Cash or Card, but you can only do so in person at the start of the Monthly Meeting on Thursday 20th November. If you could please arrive shortly after 2pm as the talk will begin at 2.30pm.
