Garden Group 1 meets on the 4th Friday morning of the month with the exception of December when there is no meeting. Between March and October we visit local gardens, many of which are privately owned and open specifically for us as a group. Members pay the cost for entry and refreshments and most owners provide a talk on the history of their garden. In November and February talks are given at the CCC on garden related themes. Recent talks have included Monet's Garden, The History of Kew Gardens and New and Unusual Perennials. At the end of January we hold a 'bring and share' lunch which ends with a quiz to keep us on our toes! A formal printed programme gives details of activities for the year.
