We try to invite every new member to join us for a new members' coffee meeting, shortly after joining the u3a. The meetings are for small groups, held in a local coffee house, and usually last between 1 - 1.5 hours. We welcome new members, provide an introduction to other new members, explain the many benefits of membership, encourage involvement sooner rather than later and answer any questions.
We sometimes struggle to make contact with new members and there are some new members who cannot attend a coffee meeting offered to them due to a clash with another commitment.
